Boudoir

Why boudoir?

I probably have three seconds before you lose interest and close this page – not because you’re rude, but, because we’re all busy. You probably have a list of things to do, so I won’t waste your time.

Boudoir is about seeing yourself through a different lens. Literally and metaphorically.

It’s about seeing yourself through the kinder eyes of another woman. Someone who, just like you, may have looked in the mirror and wished she could lose a few pounds. Someone who has felt overwhelmed by responsibilities, put herself last, or struggled to see her own beauty.

I’ve been there too.

A boudoir photoshoot is a chance to press pause on all the reasons we tell ourselves “not yet”:

  • “I’m not confident enough.”
  • “I need to lose weight first.”
  • “I’m too old.”
  • “I don’t have time for myself.”

What if, just for a moment, we set those thoughts aside? What if you allowed yourself to see that you are already enough?

As a photographer with over 20 years of experience, and a background in psychology and counselling, I create a supportive, judgement-free environment where you can relax, feel comfortable, and celebrate who you are right now. If you’re wondering who’ll be behind the camera, what brought me to photography, and why people’s stories have always fascinated me, you can read more about me here.

We’ll talk about your goals before the session, and I’ll guide you through every pose along the way.

Let’s help you reconnect with yourself.

FAQ

Where’s your studio located?

The studio is based in the centre of Gloucester (not far from Gloucester Quays) and welcomes clients from across Gloucestershire, including Cheltenham, Stroud, and the Cotswolds. Free on-site parking available.

Do you offer printed products or digital images?

All packages include digital images. Some packages also include matching small prints, but I don’t do in-person sales sessions or pressure clients into buying wall art or albums afterwards.

To be completely honest, we live in a digital world now, and I personally believe you should have the freedom to print your photographs in whatever size and style feels right for your home and your life. Some clients create albums, some frame large prints, and some simply keep the images for themselves.

I also know many people prefer choosing their own frames, albums, and printing options rather than being pushed into expensive upsells after the session. Honestly, I’d probably feel the same myself.

If you’d like to print your photographs, I’ll be happy to recommend several high-quality professional printing companies at no extra cost, so you can choose the option that suits your budget and preferences.

Your photographs are yours to enjoy however you want.

Can I do my own makeup and hair?

Absolutely. However, I always recommend professional hair and makeup for the best results on camera. If you’d prefer to do it yourself, I’ve also written a short guide with simple makeup and hair do’s and don’ts for photoshoots here>>>

I’m not photogenic and feel shy in front of the camera.

Almost every woman says this before her session, so you’re definitely not alone. You don’t need modelling experience or know how to pose. I’ll guide you through everything in a supportive way, helping you feel comfortable and look your best in photos.

What should I bring to the session?

We’ll discuss outfit ideas beforehand, as it’s a very personal choice. Maybe you’d feel most like yourself in your favourite jeans and a bra (or no bra at all), or maybe you’d prefer a more feminine lingerie set. The most important thing is that you feel comfortable and confident.

If you’re booking a bridal boudoir session, I’ve also included links to a few bridal lingerie collections below, in case you’d like a bit of inspiration:
